My Own Fabric Line

  I've always loved designing and creating, but a new one the last year has been my foray into fabric design. I was looking for bright, photo-based nature fabrics, but wasn't finding just what I was looking for.  Then I heard about a website called "Spoonflower" where you can design your own fabrics, upload them into their program, play around with them on the program and then order them on almost any kind of fabric you like. Once you order a fabric print and you like the way it looks, you can put it for sale on the website, and you get a 10% cut of the sold yardage. You don't need to print or mail it, you just need to upload the design and Spoonflower does the rest.

   Now they've branched out into wallpaper, wrapping paper and decals as well, so the design possibilities are endless!

  Here is my latest fabric design of my dandelion photo sewn into a cheery dishcloth. I'll be posting more projects as the new fabric comes in and gets sewn into my classic handmades.

"Bag About Town" Party on Sunday, Sept. 23rd from 4-7pm!

Hello all Bag About Town supporters!

In case some of you don't follow us on facebook, we are having a "Bag About Town" party (which is a lot like a Tupperware party, except more fun) on Sunday, Sept. 23rd from 4-7pm in Coquitlam.

Basically, you come for some wine, some cheese, some appies, and to socialize, and IF you want to purchase a bag (or any of our other products: bibs, baby and kitchen clothes, washable snack bags, wine bags, dog bandana and treat bags, etc, etc), you are welcome to buy something that we have there, or order whatever you want and we can make it for your in about a week or so.

You can even custom design your own bag with your choice of fabric, size, and other details (even the ribbon!).

Ready for Preschool and Kindergarden? Matching drawstring bags!

Drawstring bags are required for most preschool and kindergarden classes to keep a change of clothes and a pair of shoes for gym or if they get dirty or wet. 

We started this company in the summer knowing that our kids, and our friends kids will need cloth drawstring bags in September. 

They are reversible, machine washable, super strong, and come in various designs.  We can even give you a label to write your child's name on it that doesn't wash off.

$15 for a large bag (fits a change of clothes and small pair of shoes)

$10 for a shoe bag

$22 FOR MATCHING LARGE BAG AND SHOE BAG SET ONLY FOR STUDENTS!!  :)

We can bring our variety to your school or you can order online.  We have tons of new fabric that isn't on our website yet, so please let us know if you are intersted in seeing our new Fall line!

Night Market at the Pier at Lonsdale another Success!

We had so much fun and came up with some great ideas for our next market set-up later in August.  We don't have a set date yet, since we are going away camping, etc, but we will keep you updated!

We would love for anyone to come and visit us at our booth at the night market near Lonsdale Quay.  There will be bands all night and tons of great food.  You can even bring your dogs!

You can take the seabus, or park under the Pinnacle Hotel for only $4 for the whole night.

Night Market at the Pier on Londale in North Vancouver

  Krista and I were joined by my friend Rebecca for a wonderful time at our first major sale night.  There were lots of happy people strolling around the market, listening to music and just having a lovely time.

  I created a whimsical look for our booth and was so pleased it turned out so cheerful and colorful like I had imagined.

We had for sale reversible drawstring bags, dog bandana and dog treat bag sets, bibs, baby wipes, kitchen cloths, and Rebecca sold her beautiful washable snack bags.

We had lots of positive feedback and many exciting new ideas for the next time. Stay tuned for our next sale!

By the way, when I head out with my daughter to a playdate, car ride, or out for dinner, I say "go get your [Tinkerbell, Tigger, flower, etc] Bag About and fill it with some toys to take along with you!"

I also have a "Snack About" bag hanging on the back of the car seat with some granola bars and other snacks that my daughter can reach by herself.  

The Bag About brand really works well with kids.  :)

Charity Event was a Success!

This large reversible bag (shown inside and out) and a matching small bag, was donated 

to the silent auction at the 

"Golf for Good" 

charity event at UBC Golf Course on Tuesday,  June 19th, 2012

Proceeds from the event went to the Big Sister's 

and the Japanese Language School in the downtown Eastside

Also donated was a dog collar bandana and matching treat pouch!
